The Refinery was founded in 1835. Since its creation, the Refinery has been constantly evolving thanks to the incorporation of technology both in the factory and in the countryside. Nowadays, it is one of the most important plants in Argentina .

In November 2005, Atanor S.C.A. acquired part of the capital stock of Compañía Azucarera Concepción S.A. and its affiliates to become the majority shareholder and controlling Company.

owadays, the output of the Concepción Refinery is over 340,000 tons of sugar and 23,000,000 liters of ethyl alcohol per year, which means a significant contribution to the provincial domestic gross product. Moreover, Concepción is one of the private companies offering more job opportunities, both directly and indirectly, during the sugarcane harvest.
