Description

This product is known as triacetin and chemically speaking is glyceryl triacetate (1,2,3 propanetriol triacetate). It is a limpid and colorless liquid, partially water soluble and it dissolves in ethanol, ether, benzene and chloroform.

Triacetin is considered a chemical that poses low risk to human health and stable in regular handling and storing conditions.

Uses

- As plasticiser of cellulose acetate in cigarette filters.

- Cure accelerator in self-hardening resins in the casting industry.

- Fixer in the perfume industry.

- Chemical specialties solvent.

- Topical fungicide in medicine.

- Used in the manufacture of cosmetics.

- As tablet coating in the pharmaceutical industry.

- It removes carbon dioxide from natural gas.
