It is a cation sequestrant, a fixing, humectant and activator agent of herbicide action. It inhibits cations (Ca, Mg, Fe, etc.) and, thus, it avoids their interference with phytosanitary product molecules. It fixes to underbrush leaves, by increasing the period of stay and decreasing surface tension (it increases the vegetable contact surface) and promotes herbicide penetration and translocation to action sites.
